vina vina vina

Artists come and go but Vina Morales is one of those with an ultimate staying power. She has been humming tunes before she can even speak and has been performing for an audience since the tender age of 6. A native of Cebu, her dreams of becoming like her idol Sharon Cuneta (whom she was named after) led her to Manila and with her distinct voice and charisma, she was able to achieve just that. We have all seen her literally transform from a gifted youngster to a multimedia artist. Indeed, Vina is one of the most versatile performers we have around -- for not only is she a talented singer, but an impressive dancer and an excellent dramatic actress as well.Singing remains to be her first love it seems, as verified by her good track record in the music industry, earning accolades from Aliw Awards and certifications from PARI for Gold Record awards. Now, after a two-year hiatus from the recording business, Vina proves herself once again to be the total performer that she is with the release of her new album Mamahalin Ka Niya under Star Records. This album takes Vina closer to her audience than ever before as she bares her soul on what appears to be her most intimate record yet. It contains ten strikingly poignant tracks including the titletrack. Written by award-winning songwriters Soc Villanueva and Arnel De Pano, "Mamahalin Ka Niya" is highly infectious that you'd want to listen to it over and over again. No wonder it's currently on high rotation on FM stations nationwide, entering the Top 10 of most radio countdowns. The album also boasts of Vina and Piolo Pascual's first collaboration on the duet "Paano Kaya Magtatagpo?". Vina and Piolo wrote the song themselves, with music by Arnel De Pano. The two never really sat down to write the song what with their busy schedule but managed to finish it through texting each other. What resulted was a touching love song overflowing with emotion. Also included in the album are the classic hits "Yakapin Mo Ako", "Pangako", and "Saan Darating Ang Umaga", the sultry ballad "Narito Lang Ako" and the breathtaking dance ditty "Prove Me", among others. Mamahalin Ka Niya is now available on CDs and cassettes at record stores nationwide, released by Star Records.
